Farallon & Asante Ethernet Transceivers: Either One Better?

Is there a brand of transceiver for the PB 500 series that is better, as far as durability, reliability, performance, etc... than any other? I'm interested in opinions about Farallon and Asante transceivers in particular.

I've used both plenty of both over the years, and never had a preference. I even didn't know what brand AAUI transceiver was faithfully hanging out the back of my LaserWriter 16/600...I just had to get up and go find out. (Farallon!) Fairly sure there are more in the basement, not sure how many or what kind. And I'm a guy who normally considers himself aware of brands.

Anyone else share my view of both being about equally good?

Farallon makes one that is made of metal, can't get much sturdier than that. The same model was later produced in plastic.

I have the plastic one. Okay. Seems like they are essentially the same. I'll sell the Asante ones then, keep the Farallon.
