Did apple make a diagnostic floppy or CD for 68K Macs?

The first diagnostic discs that I am aware of were MacTest Pro and I don't think they supported anything older than PCI based PowerMacs.  For a Color Classic I think you would need a TechStep.  If I'm wrong I'm sure somebody can point you in the right direction.

I don't know if it does anything meaningful, especially with later models of hardware, but the book "Macintosh Repair and Upgrade Secrets" had a floppy disk with some basic diagnostic stuff of some kind for a few early macs (it mentions 128k and the SE).

Also, from a quick search on macintoshgarden.org for 'diagnostic':

http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/apple-mactest-pro(they mention a 68k version in there)

Here you go…

I am still uploading files. It's a pity that I can't upload .sit files here oh well.

Believe it or not, I put up almost 2GB of MacTest Pro goodness. There are Apple's own official support articles and supporting software. I recommend you read through the captures of Apple's old support articles to understand what you need and then you can download appropriate material to reach your goal.

Please feel free to download the entire folder if you wish.

You're most welcome. The files are still there on google drive. I would love to post it all here but some file types are not allowed. Not sure how I could upload them all here. Well, glad you picked them up.
