Dark spot on 850AV monitor

A few years ago I was lucky enough to buy a NIB 850AV monitor from a parts dealer on eBay. The video and sound from this monitor are both truly spectacular with one little issue: there is a dark/discolored spot at the bottom-right of the screen.

Degaussing using the built-in setting doesn't help of course. What can I do about this? Could there be a speaker shielding issue with one of the built in speakers that is causing this?

Thanks

It sounds like something has either magnetized part of the grid or the speaker shielding is improperly fitted. Can you remove the speakers and see if it goes away?

Whenever I saw this on one of my monitors I used a bulk eraser to at least skew the area back.

Can you post a pic of the screen? It could be a degaussing issue (that the built-in degausser is unable to clear).

I can almost guarantee the above posters are correct, I have run into a similar situation once before with a monitor with built in speakers. Turns out the shielding moved and created the same problem. Your best bet is to check the shielding, and if that's fine, either make or buy a degaussing coil to try and get rid of it. The built in degaussing functions aren't very powerful.
