Cross flashing a Ati Rage pro PC to Mac

Good morning 68k KMLA

First I just want to say you have a lovely forum and its helped me out a great deal to get Performa 6400/200 working.

But I have runned into a brick wall , currently I am using a DB15m to DB15 convertor for the video but the onboard video is pretty lackluster, I did a bit of searching, and it would seem that PC vga card do work as long as you can reflash them with the approite Mac Bios.

Doing a bit of digging trough my PC card collection the only card I can find that had a mac verient was a ATI Rage Pro, regretfully it seems that the mac bois for those cards is very hard to track down nowadays.

So does anyone have a dump dump or upgrade bios for any of the Rage Pro Chipset based Mac Cards?

PS If I am not mistaken the ATI XCLAIM VR or 3D (The non 128 version) should work.

Kind Regards and thanks in advance for the help.

Not helpful for me to say, I'm sure, but... Are you sure the card even has a flashable bios chip? Flashing video card bios-es wasn't really a "thing" during the Rage Pro era to my recollection. (which may well be faulty)

I've not heard of flashing these cards, you'd be best off finding an ATI Rage 128 (from a blue and white G3) or a PC Radeon 7000 you can flash over yourself.

To be honest , I am not sure if it is directly flashable from a computer, but it does have a bios chip that I removed (from the PC Card) and dumped with a programmer, so the process shouldnt be too difficult to do on a Mac edition card if some one has one.

Ive actually got a Radeon 7000 coming from china, but the problem is that the shipping will take quite a while and I actually want two card, as I have a G3 sitting here aswell.
