Oh dear. Will I risk the LC575 logic board if I try? If so, perhaps I should leave it at that :-/If it's a 060 it will die if you plug it into a 040 machine. If it's a 040 it probably is a LC chip.
TattleTech should tell you if there is a FPU or not.
I've bought several m68040 / m68060 CPUs which were supposed to be the latest mask. Each time, when I've identified them as older, re-labeled CPUs, I've gotten a full refund and haven't had to mail back the CPU. I think most people don't check, or they think they're getting a CPU that should run cooler but doesn't. The bad part is that the sellers never get punished.So people are faking old CPU's for collectors who won't be plugging them into a machine anyway?
