Chime but no video

Is it a cap problem? Q605 chimes upon powerup but no video, doesn't even respond to Cmd-Opt-Power. Removed all RAM, VRAM, expansion card, and drives and same result.

Battery problem. Just replace the PRAM battery and you'll be good to go.

A temporary situation is to just turn on the Quadra and flick the switch once.

I can't seem to get the timing for the switch flick right; I still get no video. Now to get a 3.6v battery...

I expect it's typical for all the old machines that I get to have been sitting for years and needing new batteries.

Yeah, the flick has to be really quick. If you do it right the Quadra will get enough juice to display video.

I can't seem to get the timing for the switch flick right;
Leave it on for an hour or two first, to get some juice into the PRAM circuit. Then flick off-on as quick as possible to reboot it.

The bizarre thing is I turned it on just now with the intention to leave it on like you suggested, and it came to life and booted into 7.6.1. Now I'm afraid to turn it off.

It has to be a really quick flick. Like turn off, then immediately back on. Works every time for my LC475.
