I recently noticed that the Artmix CF PowerMonster SCSI adapter is once again available on eBay.
There are several threads which reference this adapter on the forum, though all seem to apply to System 6 Macs and up. Especially this thread for PowerBooks.
Does anybody have direct experience with this drive adapter and whether it works with MFS formatting and System 1.1 through 4.3? Also, there is a question about how easily the drive can be formatted, though the problem experienced in this lowend Mac article could be related to the IDE adapter. In particular, while "neat", if the flash drive cannot be used with MFS and System 1.x-4.x then it quickly loses all appeal for me, since I have a Zip drive which is quite enough and easy enough to use. As well as compatible with OS X technology. Which brings up another question is a CF flash card compatible with OS X to transfer files back and forth?
Here's a few other handy articles. And this one. Performanceresults, Powerbooks and External installation.
Our own Wiki has a lot of information as well Flash Memory, Using Falsh Memory, Flash Drive Test Results, and IDE and Flash.
It's time to revisit this again and get some definitive answers.
