B&W G3 case fan + PSU fan replacement?

I would like to make my B&W G3 near-silent, like my iMac. I know it's possible, but I am curious to see if anyone else on here has performed this procedure.

This guide takes the route of adding sound insulation in the form of foam padding:

I think it would make more sense to get a new 120mm fan instead, though I've read the B&W G3 uses a 2-pin connector not the normal 3 pin.

Two pin connectors are not abnormal. It just means there is neither speed control nor speed monitoring on the fan. Two pin connectors are not uncommon.

You may wish to read some of the reviews over at http://www.silentpcreview.com. Heh. I just visited and there's a roundup of 120mm fans on the front page right now.

Places I've found good for buying those things include newegg.com, xoxide.com, svc.com, and jab-tech.
