Apple ][ cards!

Ok, I got a Disk ][ interface card. The capacitor might have leaked, but I cannot tell. Or test it; I don't have a ][.

I did also get a Microtek BAM-16 language card!  BAM! Again, cannot test. But they look cool!

It wouldn't be much of a surprise if they didn't work. they're 38 years old. And in a hot climate.

Language card is only useful if you have a II or II+, the later models have that integrated. I still need to dig through my A2 stuff at my mom's house in Raleigh.

When the DISK ][ card fails, it is one of the 74LS Chips. Replace all three and most of the time it will fix it. They blow out because somebody put the ribbon cable on the header wrong, which blows a chip or two. This will fix 95% of all Apple II drive issues.

Once in a while then they blow the chip off the DISK ][ Board, it board the drive too, making it a "Killer Drive." A killer dive is a drive that erases any disk you put in it. This is because of a Linear Isolator Chip blowing and pulling the drive head magnetically high, its the chip with the strange number on it. A couple of the 74LS chips on the board will also blow too, so they all have to be replaced as well. Replacing all these chips on the drive and the board will fix 99% of all Apple II Drives, but you will need to reformat your disks if the driver drive chewed on them for a while. Always use a back up disk on a questionable system.

If you have no use for that Language Card and want to pass it along I might offer you a few bucks plus shipping for it. I could use a questionable spare of one to go with my needs-repair spare II motherboard.
