This board is built just like a m5126 board. New style ram and all.

except, the video header is for the non back-lit screen like the m5120.

There is not extra holes either, (for a different(m5126) video header)

This is the first of many many that i have seen so far.

What I meant to say this is the first and only of many other m5120's and m5126's.

its 4am, and i'm sure the soldering fumes are getting to me :)

Not all that surprising. Its likely they switched to the cheaper simplified board before they started production of backlit models. I'm curious what type of RAM it has onboard and takes in the expansion slot though. Backlit models came with 2MB soldered on and required Pseudo-SRAM expansion, while the original took SRAM.

I guess the the only thing to remember is that you would need the ram card for the m5126, even though it's Non Back lit, like the m5120.

I'm pretty sure that I prefer the original design, the (m5120)

It does seem to me they are more robust.

- These have alot more caps, witch is annoying. To me it feels like they are slightly faster and more robust.
