Ok, this is pretty damn cool - thanks for the link!

We played that game via networking during university. That was during IBM PC (1st gen) time, so all the PC users were so shocked to see us doing LocalTalk networking during lessons…

It was one of the very few games with cross-platform networking. You could actually play Mac vs. PC with Armor Alley. :)

as for 'true' crossplatform its been an awhile so I can't recall any name or anything anymore but I know there was one particular vehicle racing game that could connect between dreamcast and windows and I think it may even had mac too or was I thinking of a second game console instead .. even then only the window variation had some extras including track editor (or that was a different mac-and-window title than this one I'm thinking of, my memory is murked together after all that is)

ah mm well sorry to keep being a bit offtopic but yeah while waiting for the foodstore to be eventually open I was looking online for a bit and it surprisingly was easy to find..
I present you this;

and as I found in one of the mac reviews listed there it seem like a track editor indeed was only for windows (no fun 'for us here' ah well?!)

macintoshgarden does have it and for that I'm happily able to mention that the apparent software requirement for this game is macos 8.6 minimum
