Appleshare Server 3.0.1 with Apple II boot software
Telnet, ftp and mainframe 3278 terminal software

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2019175772

is this stuff generally available software?
if you buy this machine does the license transfer with it?
is it worth squat?

don't really care and am not interested, except for this random flareup of my inquisitive streak.

1. I have Version 2.0 - the same except I don't think there is FTP (?) I have original disks/box and I'm sure that *cough* you could get a copy....
2. uh, I guess so (?)
3. Depends if you're into compact macs or not. From what i've read in the manuals, it appears that it is only really useful on compact macs. Think about it - low ram and OS requirements. These Macs were ground breakers in their time, but they require 'lite' or 'diet' software to run efficiently. I'm sure that newer macs could communicate with the server. On the other hand it would probably be possible for an SE or other such vintage mac to telnet or ftp into OSX too! Worth squat? As with anything, it's worth what you'll pay for it and factored by how much fun you'll have playing with it

it was fine and when i spoke to their tech that morning he told me not to run it until the replacement part came in. his reaction to my workaround was: oh! that'll work! <rolleyes> duh!
