Wombat (650, 800) board overclocking limitations

Hmm, so I noticed this weekend that launching Disk First Aid (Apple's from both System 7.5.5 and System 7.6.1) results in an immediate crash on my Q800 and my Q700. Re-launching Disk First Aid again after it crashes then works, but it always crashes the very first time it's launched after boot.

Ha. That's an unusual situation. "Crash never" and "crash always" I understand. I wonder what it is changing (globally?) that causes the second launch to work. Do you think it is unhappy with the ROM disk?

My experience has always been that two boots means the PRAM battery is wonky and stuff needs to be set up during the first boot for it all to run stable on the second boot. Never had that as an issue with DFA though. BUT I have definitely had other instabilities like this when switching back and forth between 7.5.5 and 7.6.1, that usually took two reboots to clear out.
