Was down in Seattle yesterday to meet up with another member who had offered me a ProFile for my projects (THANK YOU!!). While down there he was also nice enough to send a 400K external drive my way (that will go nicely with the 512) and I also picked up from a PO box a true gem I had been waiting three months for: An essentially complete DayStar PowerPRO 80mhz 601 card WITH the cache upgrade for my Quadra 950 that was for sale for a whole $75.
I also more locally had been talking with a guy in Vancouver and at the end of it I walked out with one Widget drive which a Lisa could see and was at least trying to boot from (could be simply a abd install or a corrupt disk) and another one which was purely for spares as the bearings are super stiff and the top logic board is missing.
Started inspecting everything last night. The ProFile has a PSU issue. I'll recap and hope that fixes it but the drive lost power without being parked..... Oh well, even the enclosure is all I was hoping for and aside from a large crack on one side it's good.
The PowerPro however was a bit different. It works in 68K mode but won't do anything at all in PPC mode. There's a few bent pins on the CPU that I'll straighten and one leg has detached so I'll solder that down and hope for the best. I have not checked the 400K drive yet but I know its problem will be gummed up grease.
