I've seen these Mac II Bus Master Cards pop up on eBay, and wondered what this card would be used for. I never saw one of these cards in any Mac II I ever worked on, so when were they typically used? AFAIK, bus mastering had to do with multiple devices on the bus staring DMA transactions / without going through the CPU -- Does the Mac II bus master card increase performance, or just enable the bus mastering functionality?
