What PCI Card do you have in your 6360/5400/5500/TAM?

I'm curious what's in yours now and what other card you'd install if you had a second slot available?

ATM I'm experimenting with a USB card and a Rage 128 Pro pushing 1920x1080 out the back along with the onboard Video in my 6360. Prototype TwinSlot cards still need a bit of tweaking, but curious what second card one might like to see supported?

Right now I have a USB card plugged in. I’ve considered swapping it for a FireWire & usb combo card, but they are problematic and I don’t know that I’d ever use the FireWire ports.

Hi Trash,

I’ve got a TAM and 5500. Both have had various PCI cards but find a generic USB card in there for both most of the time. Most recently the TAM has a Sonnet Tango 1.0, which will stay but I do find FW on it problematic regardless of the recent OF patch put out there.

The others cards that get in there are a 3DFX card and Apple PC compability card - the small 7” Cyrix 5x86 one. Am ever conscious of heat output and power draw using these cards, both need additional cooling if used.

Hey, mate! Was hoping you'd chime in here. I've never tried USB on Alchemy/Gazelle. It's been VidCard (full length no less) from almost day one of of my refurb 6360 experience. Hated the looks of the 6400 & 6500 FuglyTowers I snagged so much their bits wound up in my parts bin for planned projects almost immediately.

Power/Cooling budget is pathetic in that machine. For the life of me I cannot understand the thought processes that removed the WaifBack's fan from the FatBack. Gotta be Ive-ish thinness obsessive compulsive design? I'd have faired a teardrop "hood scoop" housing where FatBack thinned down to pull air in with a 120mm fan, 3.3V driven at low speed.

If I ever get my hands on a trashed TAM case I will definitely be figuring out a way to vacuum form a clear ObeseBack for LED fan light show behind it and a USB-C power plant on the multi-slot riser to run the card stack and whatnot.;)
