Wedge or Teardrop?

well, I have both. I had to hook one of them up to my G3 since the USB mouse is being used on something else. I choose the teardrop, it has much better tracking, and it's broken in more than my wedge, which is more of a collectors item, as it looks new. No wear.

so, what's your poison between the two?

btw, if you don't know, the boxy Apple ADB Mouse I=wedge, the rounded Apple ADB mouse=teardrop.

oh, and thanks to the eveil forum monkeys, I can't turn this into a poll.

Wedge. The mouse button on the tear drops are too exposed and too delicate so I frequently get mis-clicks. For some odd reason, I also find the boxy configuration more ergonomic (maybe because there is that back face to rest the ball of my palm.

I like the feel of the teardrop better, but as was said above, the button is a bit delicate and I frequently end up having to click 2 or 3 times before it responds. I think the button contact inside wears out or gets dirt buildup that interferes with it. I disassemble mine and keep it as clean as I can, but I still have problems with it. I think it is getting close to replacement time for that one. Luckily I have quite a few of them from all the machines I have acquired over the years.

I like the feel of the teardrop mouse, but I like the wedge better. The button on it is soooooo much nicer.

I must say, I actually like them both. The teardrop is more comfortable to use but the wedge really cuts it in terms of "retro" style and the nice button. Given the choice though I would probably go with the teardrop.

I also prefer the teardrop. More ergonomic for my hand. I like both actually but the teardrop just feels better.

Of course, both of them beat the early IBM mice.

Yeah, I figured those would come up. Still, even those look more ergonomic than the mouse I showed in the picture. That IBM mouse made your wrist bend up since most of the curve went upwards up until the buttons. Talk about giving you an early case of CTS. :-/

The Apple IIc mouse rules above all. But for ADB, I'd go with wedge because it's a classic.

Wedge. It feels better in design for me, the button is nice... etc.

However, the "Brick" has its advantages too.

(Brick = Mac 128k Mouse)

I actually have 2 bricks. the biege one for my Mac Plus, and a white one for an Apple IIc I found at a computer sale for $3. I use the white one because the button is wider, and it has less wear.

I personally prefer the ADB Mouse II (teardrop)...it just feels completely perfect.

Btw, Quadraman, i still use my iPuck, mostly as a backup, and for testing USB ports
