Web browsers troubles on Mac SE

I recently managed to get my Mac SE on the net using a DaynaPORT pocket SCSI/Link.

I have been having trouble getting any of the really OLD browsers to go to an external website.  The only luck I've had has been with MacLynx which will surf to any site as long as it doesn't need https.

I would like to be able to use MacWeb 2.0c if possible.  Every time I point it to an external page is gives me an 'Error 400 Invalid Request' and refuses to load even the simples pages that I'm reasonably sure SHOULD work.  It can however view html files stored on the local disk.

Any ideas or help is much apreciated!

Macweb was old enough it probably doesn't support modern day HTTP server requests

I've seen YouTube videos from as recent as 2012 showing the Mac SE surfing with MacWeb so I'm pretty sure I should be able to see SOMETHING even if it is a garbled mess. And there are sites like System 6 Heaven specifically designed to be viewable with such ancient browsers.

I had an epiphany as to what might be causing the problem. I have HughesNet satellite Internet and I have 'Web Acceleration' enabled which uses some sort of compression/proxy that the old browsers don't like. I disabled it and now I'm surfing just fine! :)

Also: How do I edit a post? That s on the end of browsers in my subject is annoying me...

So I did some searching in the archives and apparently the editing of your own posts is banned... How odd. No wonder I couldn't figure out how!

Here is a pic of my Mac SE surfing the web down at the local makerspace. :)
