is the serial port ever available when card is not being actively used or is the port basically 'dead' for as long as a modem card is physically installed and detected?
(and I realize that I wonder if its indeed the same behaviour between nubus-based and pci-based slots, but I may as well as actually be asking about the latter hence this choice of forum category)
