Twentieth Anniversary Mac - Bose AMP Board - Recap List

Hi everyone,

I recently recapped the Bose Amplifier Board (inside the subwoofer) of my Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh (TAM), and I wanted to share the capacitor list in case it helps others working on the same project. I've attached an image showing both the capacitor locations on the PCB and a complete parts list with specs.

Hopefully, this makes the job a bit easier for fellow TAM owners. Feel free to share any feedback or additions!
Good luck with your restoration!

To prevent potential issues like the infamous "TAM Bose Buzz" in the future, I used the following high-quality connectors:
  • Molex 171813-1012 – KK 396 Series, 12-pin, gold-plated male header
  • Molex 171813-0003 – KK 396 Series, 3-pin, gold-plated male header
Both are part of the KK 396 family (3.96 mm pitch) and ensure reliable, long-term connectivity.

This is gold, thanks for posting it up. In your travels where we’re most of the leaking/marginal caps in your TAM? I’ve a beloved unit yet to go there however it’s never shown weakness - yet

Thanks for sharing this. Having the list of parts available is great. I had mine done about a year ago and have been enjoying the fruits of a buzz-free TAM ever since. None of the caps anywhere seemed problematic or marginal, but also did a full recap of the entire system.
