System 7.1 bootable CD-R ...

I installed a German System 7.1 on a extra IIsi SCSI Harddrive and then created an image with Diskcopy from it. I copied the image to my MacMini with macOS and renamed it as an ISO and make a CD-R with BURN. This CD works well on my 68k IIsi but is not bootable! How can I make it bootable?

You need to launch Toast on your IIsi, and create the bootable CD using Toast CDROM Pro (by choosing the bootable option), and save out as an .iso file.

Then you can burn it using other software.

I don't have a SCSI burner, does it work without one, only within the Software? System 7.1 is running on the IIsi. I also have a Quadra700 with System 8.0.

Which Toast Pro Version do I need?

You probably lack the CD driver partition.

To clarify, you can download Toast for a 68k Mac to run on your Mac IIsi just to make the bootable iso in which you can later transfer and burn that iso with with your Mac mini which does have a CD burner. So look within Toast for an option to make the iso bootable. You're not actually going to burn the cd with the Mac IIsi.

1. Create a volume that you will use for your CDR. Preferably a disk partition used only for the CDR contents, or a disk image.
2. Copy your files to it.
3. Launch Toast.
4. Choose Mac Volume as the type.
5. Check off 'don't copy free space' and 'bootable' options.
6. File menu -> Save as disc image
7. Choose where to save your ISO file. Rename .toast to .iso for compatibility.

It's really quite simple.

With Toast 2.56 there is no "File Menu -> Save as ..."
