Sound Control panel output volume

Starting to setup my "new" iMac G3 to do midi/audio playback/recording projects.

Is there an OS 9 or 8 application that will show the output volume controls in the menu bar ?

I don't think there's one for the menu bar, but if you have the Control Strip installed, there is a Control Strip plugin that comes with the Mac OS that allows you to adjust the output volume.

there used to be one. I remember in the writing lab at junior high, they had all performa 5200s running system 7.5.5 with At Ease. They had the sound level icon in the menu bar next to the help balloon. But i searched for years and couldnt figure out how they did it.

Maybe that's what i recall because I had AT EASE and still have the flippy disk somewhere in a box full those old programs such as Claris etc.

Must have been an extension off of an original At Ease diskette.

As i have a copy of the at ease startup extension, and all that stuff, but i never could get the sound icon on there for myself. must have been either on the original install diskette, or a third-party extension. A long lost extension that I cannot find anywhere, is disklight. i miss that extension. it was nice to have.

DiskLight was a part of Norton Utilities, try finding a copy of that and you'll have DiskLight.

i think the only copy i seen on the web was on macintoshgarden, but it was norton utilities 2 i think. might have been 3.

it wasnt until 4 when disklight came out? could be wrong. going by a very faint memory.

I liked DiskLight :p From 7.1 and up I used it. :)

I do still have it around if someone wants it.(for those who have not seen, it is a control panel)

*Edit

The version I have is from norton utils 3.5.3.
