At a thrift store the other day I picked up a brand new (sealed) UMAX Astra 3400, and a box of brand new sony HD floppies, for $12 and $2 respectively.
The scanner is nothing on new ones you can get anywhere for $50, but it has USB, works natively in XP with no drivers to install, and the CD has mac software (going to try it later). So while it may not be great, it does documents perfectly (which is what I've been wanting one for) and the included OCR software is surprisingly good.
The box of floppies was labeled as a 50 pack, but it only has 38 in it. Not bad for $2. Also has a /ton/ of extra floppy labels in the box, and I've formatted a few mac and fat so far with no problems.
