Q950, SuperMac Thunder II GX 1600 - Refresh Rates

Hi all,

I recently purchased a SuperMac Thunder II GX 1600 for my Mac Quadra 950. It works, using the 13W3 to VGA adapter I took off my SparcStation 20. It's running under Mac OS 8.0, and the SuperMac software is installed (downloaded from Internet) as well as the Apple "Monitors" control panel.

I'd love to run it at 1600x1200, but my monitor (Dell 2007FP LCD) only does 1600x1200 at 60Hz exactly.

I've selected a few monitors from the configuration which looked like they would have 1600x1200 support, and (after rebooting, which is annoying) some do. However, I haven't found any which output the 1600x1200 at 60Hz, so my Dell LCD won't show the signal.

Does anyone know:

• If there is a monitor in there which is configured to send 1600x1200 at 60Hz?
• If there is a way to explicitly tell the card somehow to send 1600x1200 at 60Hz?

The whole point of this expensive purchase was to get the 1600x1200, so I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

PS: It runs fine at an odd resolution like 1300-something x 1024, so it's a small improvement already.

There is a setup procedure at boot that might help.

I have used older Sony sdm lcds with good results. They usually have a variable analog input between about 48-85Hz.

I actually have a SuperMac, not a Radius, but there is a similar page on my card that yes, I have seen, thank you.

It has a similar boot up procedure, but I only see the 13??x1024 size during that time as well.

Sorry, misread your post ????

Well, my guess is that you need a monitor that supports 75hz at 1600x1200. Thats what the specs on the Apple crts from that time says.
