Nubus ethernet

Hi,

I hope I've got the right forum! My apologies if I dont!

I have a Nubus ethernet card, but its got 10 base 2 port (BNC for those that remember that!) and a DB15 port, is it possible to connect this card to a 10 base T network using an adapter for the DB15 port? or do I need a whole new Nubus card? If it is possible to use the DB15 port, what am I looking to buy?

Thanks!

P.

You should be looking for a 10baseT AUI for the DB15.

You may have to change a jumper on the ethernet card to switch between the 10base2 and the AUI.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the advice, and the offer of a network card, I actually already had two NuBus ethernet cards, and now I have an AUI to 10baseT adapter. It worked nicely first time, particularly once I followed the advice about the jumper to change from BNC to AUI.

Thanks again everyone.

If you are stuck with a couple coax network cards you can look around for an old ethernet hub with a coax connector and use that (asuming you can buy or make some coax connectors).

I still have an old 3com Office Connect TP4 Combo hub (purchased new in the 90's for my small home network).

The unit has 4 RJ45 ports, coax, and an aui port, so you can pretty much connect anything to it. These old parts should be dirt cheap on ebay.
