New Problem - When Attempting to Test Floppy Drive, Mac Plus Crashed; Rebooting, both with FDD Cable attached and without FDD Cable attached, No Start

Hi, again (and again):

While testing different fixes for the defective ejection mechanism on the Mac Plus FDD, at one point the Mac Plus crashed. When I tried to reboot, both with FDD cable attached and, then, again, separately, without FDD cable attached, Mac Plus refused to boot, instead emitting a "tick, tick, tick" sound. No picture, no bing, nothing but the ticking itself.

I've attached copies of pics of the reverse side of the analog board and, for the life of me, I can't find a single defective solder joint. I've already posted pics of the other side of the analog board in an earlier post, and no one pointed out anything that was visibly wrong with any joints or connected components on that side of the board.

All points of contact on the back side seem well soldered and still intact and the board's general condition looks excellent (like with certain people, the photos don't do it justice .... LOL). What am I missing?

I know it sounds silly , but if it’s a bad solder joint try attaching evertthing back and give the analog board a few light taps (with a non conductive tool!) and see what happens to the screen when powered on

Well, I pulled the logic board out and disconnected it from the Mac Plus and the analog board, and the "flup, flup, flupping" sound disappeared. There was nothing. No bing, no video, no other sound and no, as far as I can tell, burning, smoke or ozone smell.

Does that mean its the logic board and not the analog board that's the problem now? This all started when I tried to plug the FDD cable back into the motherboard while the Mac Plus was on, which caused the Mac Plus to crash.

Let me know if I should be looking at the motherboard now and not the analog board.

Tough to say … could be the analog board completely dead .. and not powering anything up.

When you plugged the floppy in
With the Mac on..there could have been a current spike that burnt something out ..
