Macintosh TV IR Sensor

My Mac TV has only one minor flaw - there is no IR sensor in it. It goes where there is normally a microphone in a LC/Performa 5xx series. Does anyone have a schematic or a spare they could take a high-res picture of? If it's not too complicated, maybe I can just build one from scratch.

I can't imagine I could EVER find this part.

The IR sensor built into the Performa 630 should be similar to the one used in the TV, if not the same. You might look inside one of your 630 series machines to copy the circuit. In case you get any results, please leave a note.

It isn't though, unfortunately. This is a little box with volume buttons on it. The same box is used in 6400/6500 I'm pretty sure.

The one for the Mac TV is a long skinny board that is the same shape as the mentioned mic board. It also has a 4-pin connector.

this might help:
YES this helps!

I would never have imagined the board was so simple! They are very good, detailed pictures too. The only thing I'm not sure about is the tiny cap (C1), what the value is. It says "A9" on it and I don't know what that means. It looks to me like:

R1 = 470 ohms

C1 = (?)

C2 = 47 pF, 10V

U1 (IR sensor) = Sony part# SBX1619-51

Too bad it seems impossible to find a datasheet for the IR sensor part, that would be helpful in substituting a reasonably priced part.
