Mac Plus

Got my hands on a VERY clean plus today. Unfortunately, it's missing the keyboard cable. The family was in the midst of a move and they could not find it. The husband promised to mail it to me once they settle into their new home. He looked sincere, I've got my fingers crossed.

It was funny to see the emotional reactions of the pair. As I looked back from my car, the wife looked relieved, the husband... well, it was like I was carrying away his child. Too funny.

I have been trying to get my hands on a Mac Plus for a very long time. How did you find this one? if you don't mind my asking

A friend of a friend.

I restore and give away a lot of computers. People tend to know this, so when they hear about someone wanting to junk their older PC, my name comes up.

In this case I was offered an old Mac.

Don't try subbing a telephone cable for the keyboard one. It can cause damage as it is wired slightly differently.

yes, but you can rewire a regular telephone cable.

I have one of these. My first mac. Got it from a teacher. It's actually a 128k/512k that was upgraded. He saved it from the dumpster. It looked so cute when I got it, sitting in a little box. When I first turned it on, the wierd monitor frequency gave me a headache or something. I still have it, and it still works, but it's sitting in storage.

I was wondering about substituting a phone cord.

I have another mac plus with a keyboard cable. I'll use a continuity tester to map the pinout.
