Logitech Gamepad help

Hi there. I recently purchased a Logitech Dual action gamepad for use with my 1ghz iMac G4. It has a date of 2003 and says "mac" on the box. It came with a CD but only for Windows. I have plugged in the gamepad and tried it on several games. None of them recogize that there is a joystick attacked. I looked in about this mac, and it shows up. Not sure what to do. Is there a driver I need to download? Please lend a hand if you can,

I had one of these back in the day (or at least something very similar)… and from what I remember, there were no drivers to install, nor did they provide a configuration program. Compatible games would allow you to configure the controller directly in the game’s settings, but that was rather rare in my experience.

Usually you needed something like USB Overdrive, a utility that would allow you to define keypresses for each of the controller’s buttons. Those could be set globally, or you could have different definitions on a per game basis. Granted, you’d have to set all that up manually… but once you did that, it worked fairly well (for casual gaming at least).

I have tried USBOverdrive. It recognizes the gamepad and even responds to key presses and so forth within USBOverdrive. But no where else. I tried in Finger, System Preferences, Halo, and some OS 9 games though I figured the latter wouldnt work. For that I downloaded an OS 9 version and still nothing. Maybe I am mapping the keys incorrectly, I don't know. I also tried Gamepad Companion with similar results.

I am getting quite frustrated. It seems like the gamepad is funcitonal and that I am having a software problem but I am not able to figure it out :(

Also, I am using OS 10.4.11
