An update on the Color Classic II - I came across a good deal on a 575 board, so I ended up doing the VGA mod and putting the board in. I think of it as win/win - the AB had already been modified for the high-res mod, so I wasn't ruining a stock machine, and the speed jump is nice! Everything's working beautifully except for one thing. I have a Farallon LC NSC card I'd been using without issue in the CC II - after installing the 575 board I can't get anything to see it.
I've gone through the legacy restore disc and have tried 7.5, 7.5.3. 7.5.5, 7.6, and 8.1. I've tried with apple drivers and with the card's included drivers, (yes, they're the latest version, I checked the Proxim site). I've disabled all Apple ethernet extensions, I've tried one extension at a time... you get the idea. No matter WHAT I do, it ends up with the same result - I open the TCP/IP control panel and get a message that Ethernet is not available, so Appletalk will be used.
I can't find much info online or in the forums - the only thing I saw was an old post on jagshouse.com about how sometimes the LC 57X series expects a Comm Slot ethernet card, and to make sure the Apple Ethernet LC extension is present. Made no difference. I want to get my new mystic online, help!
