Latest Freecycle find

The other day a guy who I met on freecycle told me he had some Mac equipment for me. Should be more coming sooner or later.

I grabbed a slightly yellowed Mac SE FDHD (2x 1.44MB Superdrives), has the programmers switches on the side and came with the square mouse and the original Extended keyboard.

Also grabbed an Apple Imagewriter LQ. This printer has 2 cut sheet feeders and the localtalk board installed.

The SE fired up to 6.03 from a floppy, no burn in that I can see and the screen is stable. It had 2.5MB RAM which I upgraded to 4MB. Battery has 1VDC and seems to keep the date ok so far. Very clean inside.

I tried the LQ, ribbon seems a little dry have to take it apart and see how it looks. Going back tonight to pickup a free box of fanfold paper.

This was not an advertised freecycle find, there is zip here for Macs as well. This guy resells computers and I snag some of the items too old for him to resell (and help him out from time to time with problems). He knows I like old Macs and use older PCs so when a guy asked him if he wanted some old Macs he said yes and held them for me. Should be a few more coming when the 3rd party cleans out some more closets.

As it is this guy has given me a nice stack of good IDE drives, so I am happy (along with many other parts).
