IIci clicks and dies at power-up

Fry's had a Cool-Max 300 watt Mini-ATX power supply for $14 with Promo Code a couple of weeks ago.
Did you completely replace the power supply, or did you install the guts of the mini-ATX in the old power supply case so it would still fit nicely?
Some of the logic board capacitors must hold a charge for the Power-On circuitry to work. There are three or four caps that sit right under the power supply, and they're involved in that. From your symptoms, it's almost certainly the failure of those caps, but, of course, replace all the electrolytic logic board caps.I'm assuming since it boots and runs okay from the keyboard power button, that means the PSU is ok? And it just needs a motherboard recap like everybody's saying? I've never done one before, so I guess I'm dragging my feet looking for other explanations.
I thought about doing it myself, but I'm sending the IIci board plus one other to uniserv for recap work, in trade for his third Floppy Emu. I think he's addicted to them. Maybe there's a 12 step program…
I made my own wire harness and stuffed the guts of the mini-ATX inside the IIci's original power supply housing.
Cool. I'm going to try that in a few years when I clear this other stuff out of the way.
I got the IIci logic board back from Uniserver today, and now it boots right up with no problem. Sound works too. Woohoo!
Apple really should have put longer-lasting capacitors in their machines. Didn't they know us nerds would still be using them 25 years later? I wonder how today's electronics will fare in 2039:

Needs new battery. Seems to require some kind of pre-cranial-implant "touch" interface.

I, on the other hand, seem to have a recalcitrant IIcx that refuses to work.
When I get some time to actually LOOK at it, I will probably try to replace the PSU with the one from the IIci or Q700 (both known to be working). I seem to recall nothing happening when I did that before, though (I may not have actually done it at all, can't remember).
What's the IIci for, anyway?
