I said no more computers!!

OK, so I've been trying to remove the computers from my collection but I couldn't pass up on this craigslist find

Mint in box 128k upgraded to 512k all accessories (ImageWriter, external floppy, system saver, etc)

Hasn't been used since 1992. It has a hundred floppies! Seems to be fully working!

How much did I pay for this GEM?! $80 |) 8-o :)

Sucks it was upgraded. Question, was the rear bucket replaced with these upgrades?

If you really wanted to, you could probably track down an un-moded 128k MoBo and rear bucket, make it look stock with the original box!

The computer looks nice but that box! 8-o It's.... It's just so clean! Like the box JUST rolled out of the truck.

I said no more computer!!
I think we have all said that, but we see a good deal and....

JUMP! Snatch it up before someone else gets the chance!

The case is all original however, the main board has been replaced (512k) and honestly thats ok because 128k was so slow and couldn't run all that much so at least its something usable. And yes the box is minty fresh. I am truly amazed it was stored in a closet since '92 and they were doing clean out. Lucky me!

I have said no more computers on and off for years... But... See... I JUST HAD TO DO IT!!

Says just "Macintosh"

Also it should be noted that the internal and external floppy drives are gummed up... Won't allow me to insert a disk. Anyone remember the thread how to clean and lube these old 400k drives?

Unboxing is a dude getting stuff out of a box, right? Strangely that never did anything for me.

Great conquest, a lucky one too. ;D

I don't remember the thread, but I cleaned a few of them back in the 90s. I got some new-from-Apple but had been in the wrapper for close to a decade 400K drives. They were both frozen solid. The lubricant had turned to lacquer.

The stuck mechanisms are the metal slides on the sides of the drive. Take swabs soaked in alcohol and clean all the gunk off of the slides on the sides of the drives. Clean every moving part you can find.

After you have the drive sliding and accepting disks again, re-lube the moving metal bits with a lithium-based grease. That should last longer.
