I am typing this on a PowerBook 520/540 c Laptop with the following configuration:
PowerBook 520c
33Mhz 68LC040
20MB RAM (RAM Double'd to 40MB)
230MB 2.5" SCSI HDD
1.44MB Floppy
AAUI->Ethernet (RJ-45) adapter.
External Panasonic Portable SCSI 8x Speed CD-ROM (takes 6 AA Batteries). Model: KXL-783A
Yamaha 8x4x24 External SCSI CD-RW
Iomega Zip 100 SCSI
256 Colors Active-matrix (Dual scan?) LCD
The crappiest keyboard I have had the misfortunate of typing on
Running on:
Mac OS 8 (updated to 8.1)
Internet Explorer 3.0.1a with all scripting/images turned off except for a few things
RAM Doubler
CD-SunRise Extension INIT installed
TCP/IP
it's not so bad, it's quick, but it's like accessing the web on a glorified non-smart cellphone. it strips most of the color out, almost akin to using a web page that they make for cellphone access. Not much on it, just a few images, mostly text and a bad layout. Goes back to the early days, ya'know?
