Faster: 7447a on DDR bus or 7448 on SDR bus?

Hi,

I'd like to issue a challenge of sorts. Which do you think is faster, and why do you think so, for doing computationally intensive tasks, primarily compiling?

System one: 1.8 GHz 7447a in a MDD tower with 2 gigs of DDR memory

System two: 1.733 GHz 7448 in a digital audio tower with 1.5 gigs of 133 MHz SDR memory

The speed differences between the drives should not be a big factor since drive access is minimal, but I'll list that anyway.

System one: 750 gig Seagate 7200 RPM drive on the 100 MB/sec bus

System two: 2 TB Samsung 5400 RPM drive with SATA-IDE adapter on the 66 MB/sec bus

I've already run some tests and one system is a clear winner, but I'd be very interested to hear guesses and see who's right... Also, if anyone has any suggestions for a benchmark in BSD, I'd be happy to run some.

John

Just checked out Wikipedia and it seems like the 7448 would be the better processor. But I'm going with DDR machine, my theory is the SDR would be a bottleneck for the processor.

I feel that I have a 60% chance of being right.
