Disassemble Apple 24x ATAPI CD-ROM

Does anyone know how to disassemble Apple 678-0136 (Panasonic CR-585-B) ATAPI CD-ROM drive?
Its controller board probably needs recapping. But I'd also like to take a closer look at the ICs and eventually dump the firmware.

I suspect that the PCB is held by the tray motor - see those fat soldering pads marked with the red lasso:



Do I need to desolder the tray motor to get access to the PCB's front?

I don't want to break anything.

Hum, I would expect it to need recapping quite yet. They're late 90s.

I've only taken one apart far enough to clean the lens.
