I had to kill a little time while I was waiting on someone so I started looking around on craigslist and saw a couple of xserves in the free section. Only thing was there was a price on the topic. So I emailed and asked what was free. The reply was "all of it". He said when he moved the xserves to the free section, he couldn't find a way to change the price. They were moving their business to another location and didn't want to haul them along.
So I picked up a couple of dual 1.33ghz Xseves with few extras. All in boxes, a new motherboard in a sealed antistic bag, couple of mounting kits, OSX server 10.2.4 CD sets, spare fan and the manuals. Also a bunch of blank drive trays. I guess they must have had a number of xserves that they upgraded. Came with maxed RAM and a few 60 & 80gb HDs. One wouldn't recognize the drive until I reseated the ATA controller board.
Now I'm up to 4 of these and still don't know what to do with them
