Classic II ER room phase II..

lol

Ok so I split this up into a new thread since it now seems like a seperate issue..

After recapping the analog board, this little classic has somewhat sprung into life.

The hard drive now spins up, and the machine turns on right away.

Voltages seem much more reasonable now, 4.85V / 11.87V

The machine turns on although the display is garbled, i would say the clock is probably running and throwing some data around as there is movement in those pixels at

turn on, then it settles and then changes again to some other pattern, Im guessing this is various boot screens happening..

Picture attached, also to note is that the reset button now resets the machine also, although there is no startup bong or chime...

i have already recapped the logic board, swapped the sims around, boooted with one on its own or the other no change...

next steps?

Have you washed the board real well near the RAM chips? I had a classic II that was doing more or less the same things, and a good wash fixed it

It seems like you have one video/data line broken. I don't think I have a Classic II schematic on hand, but I would check the connection between the CPU and VIA. If yours is a Rev.2 there should be a cap close to the CPU that could have corrdoed some traces

EDIT: possibly more than one. I see that half of the screen has the correct raster on the stripes, while the other one does not
