Classic? I don't need you!

I have an QS G4 ( 933 MHz) with two internal hard drives.

Drive two is dedicated to Leo.

Drive one ( original ) is dedicated to Audio/Video storage with a copy of OS 9.2.2 that was already installed when i purchased this mac. After purchasing this Mac i installed several midi/audio programmes but had nothing but grief with instability/freezing and so. Eventually i gave up trying to tame this drive to work with those programmes. However the dream/idea of running those old OS 9 programmes has always stayed with me. The best i could do is using it for some old favourite OS 9 games and word processing/spreeedsheet programmes.

Today looking into the OS 9 folder i notice several files referenced to Classic or what appears to be classic files which may or may not be the cause of my problems.

What files in the OS 9 folder do i strip/remove to stop it from being "CLASSIC" ?.

Or should I just trash the OS 9.2.2 and install OS 9 and build up to 9.1 plus add the USB/Firewire extensions and M-Audio midi/audio drivers ?
