Can I add a partition on a already partitioned drive.

I have a hard drive in my Mac SE, and I want to add a partition to the free space without erasing it. Can I?

Thanks

Yes you can install multiple on the same partition. However you either need System picker or manage the active folder manually and not mess up.

Also, earlier Macs have a unique issue of choosing which partition of a drive at a specific SCSI ID is the default boot disk (despite what you pick in Startup Disk). PMount can set which partition is the primary. It's a side app included with Lido.

I usually install multiple system folders onto the same partition and manage them manually by dragging out the Finder on all folders that are not in use. You just have to be careful not to mess up when changing system folders.

I had mixed results with System Picker so I went back to handling things manually.
