Can any useful emulation run on a Raspberry Pi Zero? CM4? CM5?

Nice! I won't have the cubic worries of doing a PowerBook PiPower resurrection for playtime. I can just leave the MDD LeafBlower unplugged!
A basic (copper cladding free) perf board "PCI Card" will let me do whatever I want on my daily driver's KVM Setup.
Thanks for the suggestion, makes a lot of sense, but went with the Zero with antenna connector installed. That alone is worth the performance hit for my purposes.
The soldered GPIO header was the first deal killer, lowest profile possible wanted for PowerBook 100 and Duo Pi-Resurrection. For the MonsterBook form factors it probably wouldn't matter.
Had also assumed it would have the (introduced in Pi 4?) duplex USB connector. That is also a deal killer and a major impediment in my CM4 I/O board struggles. By the time emulation catches up with Pi CM4&5 I'll have mastered desoldering well enough to remove the Duplex USB and RJ45 towers.
Also need to practice tight pitch HDMI SMT connector component hotwiring. Need to point the connection backwards to interface with the internal display's controller board. Direction adapters won't fit.

Ok, looks like a project that takes a little work. I would install a heatsink on the CPU chip on the Pi - useful if you want to overclock the Pi. I don’t think you need to solder the 40 pin header, but you may want to solder the 5v and Ground pins, if you want to use a power button to turn the Pi on and off.
HRMMM, will a Pi power up automatically when power is applied?
Sure as heck it'll drop dead when power is cut . . . or is there an orderly shutdown process?

Like any computer with a read / write disk, you'll cause damage yanking the plug... But, if you're intending to only use an emulator, you can set the emulator to automatically launch on boot, and the safe shutdown to happen as soon as the emulator quits.HRMMM, will a Pi power up automatically when power is applied?

Thanks, guys, might there be any problem with putting it on a KVM switch? I have tree way USB model that has (whatever it's called) feature that hoodwinks the three into thinking they're still the only one hooked up. It was great to see that feature has finally dropped into less stratospheric pricing levels.
Is there a startup menu at Pi boot to choose between Linux and Emulation? Is that another thing to be set up myself? Figuring on choosing between Ubuntu or maybe try Mint during the build, Emulation will wait for completion of the build . . . eventually.

Buy the book, or download the pdf. You'll appreciate it. It will show you how to get started, and once you have the basics sorted we can help you with specifics.
Alternatively, the raspberry pi we site has more documentation than just about any product in existence, specifically written to be easy to follow by beginners.
Both of these sources are going to do a better job of getting you started than us randos on a vintage Mac website ever could.
Thanks much, should have taken that suggestion when you made it the first time. But have been way too distracted of late but settling down a bit. Hadn't thought KVM switch hookup would be much of a issue in the Pi community?
