Boxed OS X Tiger!

Never thought I'd see or score this, but I picked up a complete boxed retail copy of OS X Tiger on DVD today from the thrift store for $6.

I'm actually really happy about this because the only retail Tiger DVD I have is worn to the point where it is almost unusable.

It'll also look cool with my other boxed OS software.

Neat score! And for $6! Wow!

I've never had the full retail box of Tiger, but eventually (once prices come down from the stratosphere some more), I'd like to get boxed copies of 10.3-10.5 (I have single boxed copies of Mac OS X Server 1.0v1.3, 10.1 (Puma?), Jaguar, and several boxed copies of Snow Leopard and everything since has no box).

"full retail box" is a weird, subjective term in this case: the "box" is actually about the size of one of those CD jewel cases that holds 4 discs.  There aren't any huge books or anything, just a couple license agreement pamphlets, the Tiger DVD, and an iLife disc.  It might actually get lost on display with the others since it's 1/8 the size of everything else.

Offhand I think I have boxed copies of OS 8.0, 9.1, 10.0 Server, now 10.4, one or two others, and several versions of DOS and Windows as well.  Love em.

Well the retail box was large like the ones prior for Tiger. Is it in fact DVD? It could be an upgrade set or CD set. I dont recall, but I think Tiger came on DVD and was the first to do so. So if one wanted CD version, it had to be ordered from Apple.

I thought tiger came in a "full-size" box, at least originally. I know Leopard came in the "mini" box and everything after.

I've been recently trying to obtained boxed copies of the OS X versions as well. So far have 10.3 and 10.5

Certain versions in larger boxes, maybe?  The sticker on this one says "Mac OS X 10.4.6 RTL"

It is on DVD and I can't see any indication that it's an upgrade version.  I was mistaken about iLife, I meant iWork.

That may be the legacy copy? That is the one sold post-Leopard days. Mine is certainly in a large box.

As I recall there were 3 versions of Tiger DVDs. 10.4.0 and 10.4.3 were in traditional, large boxes while 10.4.6 (the first Intel-compatible version) comes in small boxes.

All Mac software comes in small boxes since then.
