Beige G3 233Mhz w/ unknown RAM

cost me $20 for it. came with monitor, keyboard and mouse. there is ZERO yellowing. I think it came with a 4GB HDD and possibly 32MB RAM.

I upgraded it heavily. this is what I did:

350Mhz CPU upgrade Clocked 400Mhz)

512MB RAM, CD-RW 120GB SATA HDD

10/100 D-Link DFE-530TX+ ethernet, Rage 128 16MB PCI card, Sonnet SATA PCI Card (bootable) and a 40GB HDD for classic OS.

It runs nicely after I installed 10.3 onto it.

I have a 1x 256MB RAM, 2x 128MB RAM and that gives up nice room to spare on RAM. I played with it for a while, but circumstance came up that I won't be able to play with pretty much ANY computer for a while.

rather well and surprisingly fast considering the upgrades. it's really stable once I figured out I had a few CD and DVD drives the system didn't like. So when i found a drive it liked, i was able to install the stuff.

Not sure what I am gonna do with the machine, but it will be fun to play around with for a while. The video card makes a huge difference in GUI response, which is why it ran fast despite only having a 233Mhz original CPU. When I almost doubled it, it ran twice as fast and applications opened almost instantly, when paired up with the SATA card and HDD.

Keeping that SATA card is a blessing since my cousin has been pressuring me to sell it to him (albeit at a much discounted price. yeah right..) All my computer hobbies are gonna be grounded until I get out of the hospital for this broken leg, but when I get out, I gotta go to therapy. This is gonna suck.

Both. I broke all three bones. Tibula, Fibula AND the femur. All three on the same landing...

Ah, the most unhappy triad. That's impressive, I've only seen a few of those outside of horrific car accidents. What happened? You slammed into a mountain at full speed? At least you're probably on the really good pain meds.

I was skydiving and panicked when coming up to the ground, I forgot to flare (brake) and I plowed into the ground at 30MPH causing a rather large dent. My left was pretty much flash laying left and I couldn't move it. I posted this in the lounge (even though some people don't read it) that explains more in details.

I did a hook-turn which I wasn't suppose to do by accident, and that may have saved my life sacrificing my leg over the rest of my body.

As fas as pain killers, right now I just took one, but due to the drowsiness it causes, I stopped taking them after 8AM and that allowed me to stay up all day so I could visit with whoever came up.

I loved the ride down to the ground, and I will admit, when I left that airplane, I kicked in the air instead of arching like I should have. What bugs me is that they cut my brand new "Looking for a Japanese Girlfriend" t-shirt which I just got the day before. I wore it to commemorate the occasion to get my pic taken with it. They split it open, as well as some pants I just got small enough to fit into and they cut my almost brand new shoes apart as well. So with the shirt, that was $26 shipped, the shoes were $70 and the pants cost about $30, so I lost some money that day.

The jump was so worth it, even if it ended up like this, I am no longer a wuffo (google the term) and it was fun as hell to do. Small price to pay.

My dad thought he was gonna be the one needing the medical care since he was jumping with a large parachute at 300lbs, and figured he was gonna land hard. He had a hard time landing the chute because he could barely flare, but he got down. When the guy that was guiding me to the ground saw I was doing a left hook (i panicked when I was off-target) He said "Oh no!" to my dad when he realized I was gonna auger in.

It's not as hard as I would have thought. The paramedics were really nice, and the staff at the hospital are excellent. I am enjoying it except for the rehab, but I am progressing nicely at it. once I get out of the hospital, I will need to go to rehab. This isn't so bad I guess...

Well, at least you're still with us and that's what counts. You seem surprisingly upbeat despite one of the worst injuries most can suffer to their lower limbs. You must be one of those "glass half full" people.
