Baldur's Gate II problems

I have a stock Mac Cube, a long time ago I installed BG2 on it, and was happily playing away.

Then one day the hard drive crashed.

I recently replaced it, installed OS 9.2.1 on it (not running OS X), installed BG2, applied the 1.1.2? patch, but whenever I run it I keep getting System Type 2 errors.

Any help appreciated.

Update....I installed OS X (Tiger) and Baldur's Gate II runs fine under it. Therefore it's definitely not a hardware issue.

I think I'll just give up trying to use OS 9 as the platform and stick with OS X, even if by all accounts performance under it sucks.
