Applevision 17”

I have an applevision 17” that was given to me. It works, but the bottom of the screen can sometimes get lines and sometimes whole screen seems to jiggle or something. Hard to capture it with video. Is a total recap and reflow of flyback and yoke board recommended? Hate to pump a lot money and time if it isnt going to fix any issues.

I just recapped my apple 17” multiscan monitor but I was having zero issues before hand. It had a thousand caps.. unreal

I’d try a reflow where it matters, some of the jumpiness could be a dying flyback, hopefully not. I've not replaced caps in mine - 17" AV edition.

Ok, i reflowed the flyback and yoke board. Now i dont get any resolution higher than 640x480 on onboard or av card

Recapped the main board. Reflowed all important areas. No change and still stuck at 640x 480. Oh well, i tried

Do you have it connected over ADB as well (if it contains such a connector)? I halfway remember needing to do that on these monitors (although you would think they would just use sense pins…)

Yes, check software extensions and make sure it’s plugged into a Mac close to release with ADB and stock video
