Apple Multiple Scan 14 and IIsi

I plicked up a Apple Multiple Scan 14 display today and I am trying to attach it to my IIsi.

When I turn on the system the moniotr briefly exits sleep mode, but then returns to sleep mode.

Looking at this page it implies that it is not compatible with the onboard video on a IIsi. That a Nubus video card is required. Is this correct?

I seem to recall having this issue when I tried to attach my Q800 to a 17 Apple Studio Display (The blue and white one). I believe it was due to a lack of DDC information being sent.

Does anyone else have a Apple Multiple Scan 14 attached to a IIsi?

I seem to recall the Multiple Scan monitors being incompatible with a lot of the early integrated videos (IIsi, IIci, LC, LC II).

Actually, that says you need a NuBus card or a display adapter. If you can find one of these display adapters, you'll be set.

In fact, it looks like the only machines that can't run it on built-in video are the machines with no video-out capability. (And the very ancient original Macintosh II, 1987-timeframe NuBus video cards.)

Boy is that a awkwardly worded sentence or what.

"Requires compatible display card and Macintosh IIsi NuBus Adapter card or display adapter."

This is how I read that sentence

Requires (Display Card ^ NuBus Adapter) v (display adapter).

So what is this display adapter of which they speak?

--edit Well never mind, if I had scrolled down a little it explains what the display adapter is.
