Apple II psu potentiometer

Hello,
I was cleaning a burst RIFA in my Apple II psu and I happened to spin this potentiometer. Just curious what its purpose is and if I made a mistake that can be fixed. Thanks!

That's a voltage adjustment, probably for the +5V line. Don't connect it to a motherboard until properly (re)set! The power supply needs to be checked with loads on the outputs. Maybe someone has a link to a tutorial?

Ah shoot, thanks for that. Yeah, I’m not sure how to test that, so I would appreciate some help

hook an old hard drive to the Apple II PSU and reset voltages

How would I do that? The hard drive I have in mind is an old sata drive with a 4 pin molex input for power

Any hard drive will only need 5 and 12 volts, so wiring it from the Apple II PSU should not be hard.

Great, and once I do that would I need a multimeter or oscillator to reset the voltages? Or at least view them.

I’ve tested the rails as per Adrian’s instructions (

) and they all are within the correct ranges
