I only have an led from a 7600. The connector is the same but it doesn’t light up when 8100 is powered on. I have two 8100 boards and same thing. Anyone with a wiring diagram for the connector?

That's the connector on the board. Pin 1 should be marked (or have a square pad).
You want the side of the LED with a slight flat on it at the lead end to be going to pin 5

Is it possibly that the connector is a bit corroded and works intermittently? This happened on my 840AV until I cleaned it up. Not aware of a contact closure on the case itself.
Hmmm, well not taking the cover off to check lol.. these covers are awful. I now have the 8100 ,8500, 840av, q800 and the 9500…love the look, but the cases are nasty to open. Especially with brittle plastics.
Just need to get the 8200 now and the collection will be complete

Just region locked. They weren't sold in most of the world. The US gets the Q605, Europe gets the 8200.
It isn't, must be just a bad connection like @croissantking said.
the cases are near impossible to disassemble without breaking plastic, it was the worst era of plastics. i would have no problem if there would be replacement clear cases for 8100s
