3 questions regarding Powerbook 540c & Powerbook 145b

Good day,

i have a powerbook 540c and i am thinking of buying a powerbook 145b but the guy that sells it does not know if it works because it has not a power supply to test it.

1) Is powerbook 540c's power supply suitable for powerbook 145b?

2) Does powerbook 145b supports 24-bit addressing mode?

3) My powerbook 540c has a problem with the floppy drive. Can i put and use powerbook 145b's floppy drive on the 540c?

Thanks.

Regards

Dimitris from Greece

3. Many (all?) old PowerBook floppy drives are interchangeable. I swapped a defective PB 145B floppy with a good PB 5300 one.
I detected a difference tonight:
PowerBook 180c floppy drive:

Sony MPF22A-01

MFD22A-01

PowerBook 5300 series floppy drive:

Mitsubishi MF355H-497MA

I dont think it matters as long as the pinouts match up on the drive. I have seen 2 or 3 different manufacturers of manual inject desktop drives of Apple's later years.

as far as using a blackbird 5xx power adapter with anything else? Forget it. they are highly proprietary for that specific machine.

I checked my pictures right now:

Mitsubishi MF355H and Sony MPF22A-01 have their connectors on different sides so I was not able to swap a PB 3500 floppy drive with a PB 180c (Sony) floppy drive.

And to correct my first post:

I've already swapped a PB 5300 floppy drive with a PB 150 (not 145B) AND a PB 1400 floppy drive. These were Mitsubishi MF355H.
