Using SCSI2SD with Color Classic

Hi,

I have a SCSI2SD 5.1 I had previously purchased to use with my Mac Classic. Recently lucked into a fully recapped Color Classic. Tried the instructions on savagetaylor.com to write his 7.5 image to my 16G SD card machine would boot but whenever I tried to launch anything would get a vague "sorry an unexpected error occurred". I tried reformatting the SD card and writing the image to it again. Now the CC doesn't see anything to boot off of. I tried upgrading the firmware on the SCSI2SD from 4.8.0.1 to to 4.8.0.4 and no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

maybe you got a faulty one, try using it in your Macintosh Classic and see if it boots
Yeah I was thinking that too since can boot the classic off the ROM disk and see what it sees. The SCSI2SD did work with my Classic and initially worked with the CC before I started messing with the SD card. Unfortunately I think the analog board needs to be recapped as getting checker board when power it on. I had the logic board recapped a year ago not and was hoping that would be sufficient as not comfortable touching the analog board.

There are some people that are willing to recap the analog board like amiga of Rochester and Mac84

I'm uncomfortable removing it though (risk of damaging the tube) so probably limited to someone local to Seattle area who I can just bring the entire machine to. I found someone in Vancouver BC but COVID / Winter weather makes it feel a bit risky to travel there at moment.
